Second teen charged for threats against Kemptville high school

A second 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection to threats made last year against a high school in Kemptville, Ont. 

Between Sept. 13 and Oct. 18, 2024, St. Michael Catholic High School received multiple threats of violence, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The school was closed for eight days as police investigated.

On Oct. 25, OPP reported that a 14-year-old boy from Bridgewater, N.S., had been arrested and charged with five criminal offences.

On Tuesday, another 14-year-old boy was arrested in a home in South Dundas, Ont., OPP wrote in a post on X. He’s charged with 11 criminal offences including uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. 

“These charges relate to incidents in Kemptville, Iroquois and New York State,” OPP said. 

The identity of both teens is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The OPP said the investigation is ongoing and involves Canadian police in multiple jurisdictions as well as the FBI.
