Ottawa police have charged a man who worked as a driver for a Centretown high school with sexually assaulting a girl younger than 16.

The accused, 56-year-old Jean-Pierre Mutabazi, was charged Thursday with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching, Ottawa Police Service said in a news release.

Police allege that on March 1, Mutabazi had dropped off the other students and was driving the girl home when he stopped his van and forced her to perform a sexual act.

He then drove her home, police said.

Mutabazi is expected to appear in court today.
