Piper Logan scored two tries for Canada, while captain Olivia Apps contributed a conversion.
Australia enters the semifinal match with an undefeated record, and after a 40-7 victory over Ireland in Monday’s quarterfinal.
The winner of the match will face New Zealand in the gold-medal final, while the loser will face the United States for bronze.
