Woman, 66, dies at Sandbanks Provincial Park

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a 66-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the water at a beach and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A postmortem has been scheduled to determine the cause of the woman’s death

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the sudden death of a woman Saturday afternoon at Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County.

In a news release, OPP said emergency medical services responded at around 4:45 p.m. to a report of an unresponsive person in the water at Outlet Beach.

A 66-year-old woman was taken to hospital and pronounced dead, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, the OPP said.  A postmortem has been scheduled to determine the cause of the woman’s death.
