Ottawa paramedics said one person is dead after falling from the top of a construction structure in the city’s south end Monday.
Paramedics said they were called at 1:10 p.m.to a construction site near the intersection of Longfields and Chapman Mills drives in Barrhaven.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, paramedics said. The cause of the fall was not immediately specified.
Paramedics have yet to identify the deceased, as next of kin is still being notified.
CBC News has reached out to the Ontario Ministry of Labour for additional information, but has yet to hear back.
The ministry is required to investigate cases that involve the death or injury of a worker.
