Smoke from forest fires in Western Canada could cause problems for some residents in the capital region Friday, Environment Canada says.
The smoke is “causing or could result in deteriorated air quality and reduced visibility” the agency said on its website Friday.
“Consider reducing your outdoor activities if you are experiencing discomfort.”
The condition is expected to clear up by 6:30 p.m.

Friday is forecasted to be another hot day in Ottawa with a high of 30 C (36 C with humidity) and sunny skies. Environment Canada said more rain is expected as “a moisture-laden system approaches,” possibly bringing heavy rain and a thunderstorm Friday night.
The rain is expected to continue through the weekend, with high temperatures to drop to the low 20s.
A high of 22 C with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm is expected on Saturday, with a low of 18 C and showers forecasted at night.
Sunday will likely see more showers and a high of 23 C.
