Collision on 401 near Kingston sends two to hospital with life-threatening injuries

Two people were sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision Sunday night involving two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle on Highway 401 just west of Kingston.

Officers from the Lennox and Addington County OPP detachment responded to the scene in the westbound lanes of the 401 in Loyalist Township just before 9:30 p.m.

The motorcyclist and one occupant of a vehicle that had five people in it were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Two other people in the vehicle were also taken to hospital, while the only person in the other passenger vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision remains under investigation.
