Cyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run crash in Ottawa’s south end

Ottawa police say a serious crash between a cycle and a vehicle early Friday was a case of hit and run.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run collision on Bank Street near Johnston Road involving the driver of a vehicle and cyclist, police said in a release Friday.

The cyclist, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and remains in stable condition.

Police say they have no description of the vehicle as yet, only that it might have left the scene northbound on Bank Street.

Police are seeking any witnesses or anyone with dashcam video of the incident and have not yet spoken to police.
