Ottawa police have determined the death of a person found near a Barrhaven shopping plaza on Monday morning is not suspicious.

Police were called to the scene at about 10:15 a.m. Monday to the corner of Greenbank Road and Strandherd Drive, after a deceased person was found.

“All deaths are treated as suspicious until they have been deemed otherwise,” a police spokesperson said Monday afternoon.

The taped-off area was at a busy Barrhaven intersection near big-box retailers, though there was little foot traffic in the area Monday afternoon.
