The 80-year-old operator of a student transportation van has been charged with careless driving after a multi-vehicle collision in Lanark County on Monday.

The Ontario Provincial Police said in a release on Wednesday that the crash occurred on Highway 7 near Ramsay Concession 4A in Mississippi Mills just before 8 a.m. on Monday.

An eastbound car had stopped to turn left when it was struck from behind by an eastbound van. A westbound SUV then collided with the car.

Two children in the car ended up with minor injuries, with one of them transported to hospital for treatment. One of the two passengers in the student transportation van was treated at the scene by Lanark County paramedics. The driver of the SUV wasn’t hurt, police added.
