Ottawa firefighters were called to extricate two people who were trapped following a serious head-on collision Tuesday night in Metcalfe.
Firefighters were called to the crash in the 6600 block of Bank Street at about 8:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed drivers were trapped in one vehicle on the east side shoulder, the other on the west side with the front end in the ditch.

Responders stabilized the vehicles before beginning the extrications.
Special equipment was used to remove the drivers’ side doors on both vehicles where the drivers were pinned.
The first driver was safely extricated just after 9 p.m., while the second was safely out at 9:11 p.m.
Paramedics said three women and a man were taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.
There was a third vehicle involved that had minor damage after driving through the debris from the accident and did not require extrication.
