The occupants told firefighters that everyone had left the building.

Firefighters advanced a hose line inside and towards the kitchen.

The flames had travelled through the ventilation system ductwork and up into the roof and fire teams had to set up an aerial ladder to attack the fire from above.

Meanwhile, crews inside began to pull down the ceiling in the kitchen area to extinguish the flames between the ceiling and the roof.

The fire was declared under control at 1:33 a.m.

Firefighters conducted two full searches to ensure there were no victims inside. High-pressure fans were used to ventilate the smoke out of the structure.

There were no reported injuries.

An investigator was dispatched to the scene.
