Ottawa firefighters prevented an early-morning fire in an attached garage from spreading to the home on Saturday.

The owner of a home in the 4000 block of Navan Road called the fire service at 8:27 a.m., reporting the garage of the three-storey residence was on fire.

The home owner reported all the residents and a pet had exited the home safely.

Propane tanks beside the garage caused concerns for the firefighters, but they were not affected.

The fire was contained to the garage area and the fire was declared under control at 8:50 a.m.

High-pressure fans were used to ventilate the residual smoke out of the garage and inside the home.

There were no injuries reported.

A fire investigator was assigned to determine the cause of the blaze.
