Gatineau police say they have arrested two suspects in connection with the city’s third homicide of the year.

Police identified the victim as Maxim Bourgon-Frigon, 35.

He was found seriously injured at 6:30 a.m. Thursday on Boulevard des Allumettières. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy is to be performed in Montreal to determine the cause of death.

Shortly after 9:15 p.m. Thursday police arrested a 56-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman.

“Both individuals are known to police,” police said in a release.

The individuals were not identified further.

The discovery of the victim’s body prompted a wide search for witnesses and information, closing busy Boulevard des Allumettières and cross streets for several hours Thursday morning and afternoon.

Police asked anyone with information on the case to call the Police INFO line at 819-243-4636, option 1.
