One man is dead and a police officer was seriously injured in a confrontation in Gatineau’s Hull district early Thursday.
One of the officers was stabbed several times by a knife-wielding suspect. The officer is in serious condition, but the wounds are not considered life-threatening.
“Police … had to intervene quickly to rescue their colleague,” police said in a statement.
