Gatineau police seek charges against motorcyclist in collision that left moped driver in hospital

Gatineau police have submitted several charges against a motorcyclist involved in a collision with a moped Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Maloney West and De la Cité boulevards.

The moped driver remains in hospital in serious condition.

“The investigation … led the police to submit charges of impaired driving causing injury and dangerous driving causing injury … to the (Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions) against the driver of the motorcycle,” police said in a release Thursday.

The motorcyclist, 56, remains in custody is expected to appear in the Court of Quebec later Thursday.

The driver of the moped involved in the collision is still in hospital where his condition is considered serious.

The investigation continues, police said.
