One person is dead and a number of traffic stops have been conducted by Ontario Provincial Police under the force’s “Ontario Impact” initiative for traffic safety on the Thanksgiving weekend.
Provincial police said Sunday an investigation is continuing into a fatal collision late Saturday on Highway 23 (Perth Road 164).
One person has been confirmed deceased. No other information has been released.

Provincial police said Sunday a driver in the Grenville area faces a list of charges after being caught on Highway 401 for stunt-driving and other charges just before 7 a.m.
The driver was registered doing 172 km/h with three other adults and a child on board.
“Passengers’ fate rely on the driver’s behaviour, and speeds like this put not only the passengers’ lives at risk but other road users as well,” OPP said on social media.
Meanwhile, OPP in Ottawa also reminded residents that it’s illegal to walk along a 400 series highway in Ontario.
Shortly before 9.m. Saturday, police were called to Highway 416 after a report of an intoxicated individual who was walking along the highway.
The person had called for an Uber, but became uncooperative and aggressive while being driven home.
The Uber driver was forced to pull over and call police.
The individual was then arrested and held in custody.
There was no information on charges.
