Ottawa’s LRT is back running after a brief stoppage Monday afternoon.

OC Transpo said on social media shortly after 12 p.m. that a stopped train meant service was only running on eastbound trains between Hurdman and uOttawa stations on the O-Train Confederation Line.

The post did not specify what caused the stopped train, but said, “We are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.”

Regular service resumed about 30 minutes later.

It came on the heels of a rough commute for some bus riders, as OC Transpo earlier reported “an increase in the number of buses missing their trips,” during the morning commute.

“We will continue to provide you updates with more information,” OC Transpo said on social media around 8:20 a.m.

Later in the day, OC Transpo spokesperson Katrina Camposarcone-Stubbs said between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., OC Transpo was unable to deliver 130 of 2,125 planned bus trips.

This was due to lower than usual bus availability, she said via email.

“Staff are actively working to complete necessary vehicle maintenance activities and increase our fleet availability,” she said.

We understand the impact this has on our customers and will continue to keep them informed by updating our real-time travel planning tools such as the Transit App and 560560 text service. The Transit Operations Control Centre (TOCC) is monitoring the transit network in real time and making adjustments to minimize the impacts on our customers.”
