Man, 25, faces dangerous driving causing death charge after cyclist hit

A 25-year-old Ottawa man faces a charge of dangerous driving causing death after a 33-year-old cyclist died two days after a collision with a vehicle.

The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit says the collision between the cyclist and the vehicle occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The cyclist, who has been identified as Chanel Charette, left the scene and went to hospital, where she died on Thursday.

No other details have been released.

Tony Bere is to appear in court Sunday for a show cause hearing.
