Missing 13-year-old last seen Wednesday, Ottawa police say

The Ottawa Police Service said Thursday it was seeking public assistance in locating a 13-year-old youth.

Veyanna Froats was last seen in the area of Alta Vista Drive and Heron Road at approximately 3 p.m. on Dec. 11, police said in a news release.

She is Indigenous and described as standing five feet six inches (168 centimetres) tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds (59 kilograms) and having long, dyed dark brown hair. She has brown eyes, a nose piercing and a piercing on her top lip.

She was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, a red sweater with “SARNIA LAMBTON NATIVE FRIENDSHIP CENTRE” on the back. She was wearing black jogging pants and white and cream high top Nike shoes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts was asked to call 911. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or online at crimestoppers.ca.
