OC Transpo has announced “holiday service” changes to its bus and train routes for the two-week period from Dec, 23 to Jan. 3.
On Mon. Dec. 23, Tue. Dec. 24 and Fri. Dec. 27, bus and O-Train Line 1 service will be reduced. The latter will see peak period train service every five minutes, instead of four.
On Christmas Day, buses and trains will run on Sunday schedules, with Shopper bus route 303 not running at all.

Bus and train service on Boxing Day will run on Saturday schedules.
On Mon. Dec. 30 and Thu. Jan. 2 and Fri. Jan. 3, bus and O-Train Line 1 service will be reduced. The latter will see peak period train service every five minutes.
On Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, B2 bus service will start at 5:45 a.m. and run until 1 a.m. Other bus routes will run on reduced schedules, while ParaTranspo will operate until 3 a.m. O-Train Line 1 trains will run on a Friday schedule from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m., with peak period service every five minutes.
On New Year’s Day, buses and trains will run on Sunday schedules, with Shopper bus route 303 not running at all.
Additionally, the supplemental B2 bus trips that start or end at Carleton University at peak class times will be removed during the holiday period. Frequency on bus route 25 during this period will also be reduced north of Blair Station in the midday from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes. And the following supplemental trips on bus route 88 will be removed during the holidays: Eastbound from Baseline Station at 7:34 a.m., 12:03 p.m., 2:01 p.m., and 2:52 p.m., and westbound from Hurdman Station at 3:02 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.

All school trips on regular routes and 600-series routes will also be removed during the holidays. Select special school trips will be adjusted to follow a reduced weekday schedule on routes 96, 99, 171, 173 and 175.
OC also announced the beginning of “winter service” on Dec. 22, with some bus routes changing in anticipation of the Jan. 6 opening of Trillium Lines 2 and 4.
Bus routes 74, 198, 278 and 406 will be extended to the Limebank Station on Line 2.
Line 2 bus service will continue to run between Bayview and South Keys stations, but under a new name: B2.
Route 97 will continue to run to the airport, providing service alongside Line 4 between South Keys and the airport.
Route 99, meanwhile, will continue to run its current route in the south.
This will provide bus service alongside Line 2 in the south, and will make connections at Walkley, Greenboro, South Keys and Leitrim Stations.
