OC Transpo will reveal next week the long-awaited reopening day for the expanded north-south line for the LRT.

The transit agency will hold an information session on Dec. 6, where they will present a technical briefing starting at 10:30 a.m. to review the Trillium Line’s trial run results and launch plans.
The new Line 2 extends south to Limebank Road with a new four-kilometre spur line, known as Line 4, from South Keys to the Ottawa International Airport.

The Trillium Line closed for expansion in 2020 and was meant to reopen in 2022. It has faced several delays and buses have shuttled passengers between South Keys and Bayview in the meantime.
“Transit Services staff will review information from the trial running of O-Train Lines 2 and 4, and the upcoming launch plans, including the anticipated opening date,” on Dec. 6 according to a news release.
Transit Services GM Renée Amilcar, will be joined at the briefing by a list of transit officials including Richard Holder, director of the rail construction program, Troy Charter, director of transit service delivery and rail operations, and Pat Scrimgeour, director of transit customer systems and planning.
Media representatives will have the opportunity to ask questions 10 minutes after the technical briefing ends.
