Police in Ottawa said an unexpected creature broke into a basement apartment in Ottawa’s west end on Thursday, but evaded capture and remained at large, possibly frolicking in a nearby forest.
“A deer gained entry to a basement apartment and refused to leave. After officers arrived, it fled back out the window it came in and evaded police,” the Ottawa Police Service said Friday on social media.
The deer, who appeared in a photo inside the apartment with a kind, but quizzical expression, was described by police as “having reddish-brown coloured hair and approximately 4’ tall, lean build, and not wearing any clothes.”
Police did not specify if Bambi was looking for its mother or if the woodland creature was seeking respite from a big bad wolf.
