One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision Friday evening on Route 200 at St-Pierre Road in Russell Township.

Calls came in about the crash, near Embrun, about a half-hour southeast of Ottawa, at about 6:35 p.m., the OPP said in a news release Monday. Early information suggested a black SUV and a white car had collided, police said.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene while the other driver and passengers from both vehicles were taken to hospital with serious injuries, the release stated.

The Russell County OPP detachment is investigating, and anyone with relevant dashcam video or who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police was asked to contact Russell County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident No. E240760627.
