One person was transported to hospital in critical condition following a shooting in Lowertown on Wednesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service said the individual was an adult male. No further details were immediately available.

In an online post, the Ottawa Police Service said officers found the injured individual after responding to the intersection of Murray Street and Beausoleil Drive at approximately 3:40 p.m.

“The investigation is currently ongoing and road closures remain in place,” the post added.

An earlier post said Beausoleil was closed between Murray and Old St. Patrick Street because of the police operation in that area.
