OPP repeats request for tips in 2020 killing of Ottawa man

The Ontario Provincial Police has repeated a request for public assistance in the killing of an Ottawa man four years ago.

A news release on Friday said the investigation into the death of Mohamed Amin Ismail and the search for his killers were continuing.

Ismail’s body was found by OPP officers on the evening of Aug. 4, 2020, along the roadway on Watson Road North in Wellington County, west of Toronto.

“The death was determined to be a homicide,” Friday’s notice said, adding investigators believed that individuals in the areas of Wellington County, Kitchener-Waterloo and Ottawa may have information that could help with the investigation.

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit investigation continues under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, the release added.
