The Ottawa Convention Centre has a new identity: Rogers Centre Ottawa.

The convention centre announced its new 10-year naming rights agreement with the communications company on Wednesday. It had been identified as the Shaw Centre under a previous 10-year deal that began in 2014.

The Rogers brand is already visible on Rogers Centre Ottawa’s website and digital assets, a news release said, while internal and external signage will be updated over the coming months.

“We are excited to announce this incredible partnership with Rogers,” Jim Armour, chair of the board for the Ottawa Convention Centre, said in the news release. “The renaming to Rogers Centre Ottawa marks a new chapter for our convention centre, one that will provide innovation and the delivery of exceptional events.”

The facility tucked between the Rideau Centre and the Rideau Canal opened in 2011. Wednesday’s release said it was named the world’s best convention centre by the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) in 2020.

The Ottawa Convention Centre Corporation is an agency of the Government of Ontario.
