For the fourth time this month, Ottawa Fire Services structural experts were called in to rehabilitate a building severely damaged by a car crash.

The latest incident occurred Tuesday morning when a vehicle smashed into a residence on Coulson Court in Kanata.

Firefighters arriving at the scene confirmed the vehicle had driven through the brick wall of a garage attached to a bungalow.

Structural specialists went to work to erect supports and they were able to safely remove the vehicle without further damage.

Residents were able to move back into the home. There were no injuries reported.

This followed a crash last Friday when a three-storey home on Deerfield Drive near Algonquin College was struck by a vehicle.

Again, structural expecrts were able to shore up the structure to ensure there’d be no further damage.

There were two such crashes in the first week of June, one on Allanford Avenue in Hunt Club and the other in the Uplands Drive neighbourhood.

Ottawa Fire Services spokesman Nick De Fazio said there was no specific reason for the flurry of similar crashes.
