It was a busy day for the fire service, with a fire at a Bank Street minimall late Sunday morning and another blaze at a Bruyère Street apartment building that crews battled into the early morning after it began at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
At the Arlington Avenue scene Sunday afternoon, additional resources were dispatched at 3:21, with a “fast attack” initiated and a hose line advanced into the building. Crews began searching the home for any occupants and by 4:07 the blaze had been declared under control.
A fire services investigator was sent to the location to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
On Rotary Way, it was confirmed that the garage was “fully involved” when crews arrived at the house, and additional services were called at 4:03. Again, a fast attack was started and a hose line moved into the structure. Firefighters completed two searches of the home and no occupants were found inside. The situation was declared under control at 4:41.
As with the first fire, an investigator was sent to the scene to determine cause and origin.
The fire service did not report that there were any injuries at either fire.
