Ottawa police investigate homicide after assault victim with serious burns dies in hospital

The man found on Queen Street with serious burns has died in hospital, prompting Ottawa police to mount a homicide investigation.

The victim was found with serious burns in the 100 block of Queen Street just after 6 a.m. Monday, police said on X.

The homicide unit took over the case after the man’s death, they added late Monday. Further updates are expected.
