Ottawa woman charged over Transitway incident in May

The Ottawa Police Service has charged a 46-year-old woman with assault and other offences in connection with an assault in the area of Lees Avenue and the Transitway in late May.

According to a news release on Friday, the unidentified woman assaulted three youth and an OC Transpo Special Constable and also uttered racial slurs during the incident.

The woman, from Ottawa, was charged with one count each of assault with a weapon, harassment by threatening conduct, uttering threats and assaulting a peace officer as well as three counts of mischief and two counts of assault.

She was scheduled to appear in court on June 15, the police news release added.
