Ottawa woman dead following head-on collision on Highway 7 near Perth

One person is dead after a head-on collision on Highway 7 between Perth and Innisville on Monday afternoon.

Provincial police said a 77-year-old woman from Ottawa died in the collision, despite the efforts of paramedics. A 49-year-old man from Mississippi Mills had no serious injuries.

The OPP took a call about the collision at 1:45 p.m. At about 3 p.m., police said in a social media post that Highway 7 between Drummond Concession 9A and Drummond Concession 7 was closed.

The highway was closed until late Monday as the OPP investigated.

There were no immediate details available about injuries to others involved in the collision, police said.
