Pedestrian struck by vehicle in storm arrested on outstanding charges

Provincial police responding to a call for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Hawkesbury during the snowfall Wednesday night discovered the victim was wanted on several outstanding charges.

The crash occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on Front Road in Hawkesbury’s east end.

According to reports, the pedestrian was wearing all-black clothing and was walking in the middle of the road during the storm.

In verifying ID, officers discovered the man, 24, was wanted for previous outstanding charges.

He was arrested and charged with multiple offences and held for bail. He was expected to appear in court Thursday.

The man suffered minor injuries in the collision, police said.
