Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a man in 100 block of George Street late Thursday night.
Police said the death occurred just after 10:30 p.m. in the area of the Salvation Army Booth Centre.
Paramedics say the victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Police said in a release Friday that they expect there will continue to be a significant police presence in the Market area, along with road closures.
People are asked to please avoid the area.
No further information will be released pending next-of-kin notifications.
