Ottawa police were on scene in Barrhaven after a deceased person was found near a shopping plaza Monday morning.

Police were called to the scene at about 10:15 a.m. Monday to the corner of Greenbank Road and Strandherd Drive.

“All deaths are treated as suspicious until they have been deemed otherwise,” a police spokesperson said in a statement. “This investigation is in the infancy stages and as such no further information will be provided.”

The taped-off area was at a busy Barrhaven intersection near big-box retailers, though there was little foot traffic in the area Monday afternoon.
