Ottawa homicide detectives are looking for public assistance to track down a car they suspect was involved in the stabbing homicide last month of Dale Lusk in the village of Metcalfe.
At a news conference Thursday, lead investigator Sgt. Chris O’Brien said Lusk, 66, was stabbed Sept. 23 near his home on Ira Morgan Way in Metcalfe. He later died in hospital.
“Dale was seconds from his home…when he pulled over to interact with the occupants of a light-grey or silver four-door car,” O’Brien said.

The detective said that the passenger in the car jumped into Lusk’s pickup truck and stabbed him before fleeing the area.
On Thursday, police released a video and photos of a light-grey or silver four-door car that they suspect was involved in the attack.
O’Brien said investigators know there were at least two people in the vehicle.
“We’re not asking the public to call in every grey or light-coloured silver sedan they might come across; that kind of information will not assist us,” he said.
Rather, the detective said police are hoping the public will see the photos and think of anyone they might know who uses that sort of vehicle.
O’Brien also read a statement on behalf of Lusk’s family.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved Dale. He was a dedicated father, a loving husband and a cherished member of our family,” the statement read.
“We are pleading with anyone who may have information about Dale’s homicide or the individuals responsible to come forward. No piece of information is too small.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service tip line at 613-236-1222, ext. 5477.
