Police seek witnesses to Carling Avenue scooter collision that critically injured youth

A youth was left with life-threatening injuries from a collision on Carling Avenue on Monday morning and police are hoping to speak to witnesses who saw the accident.

The youth was riding an e-scooter when he or she was struck by a vehicle at about 8:30 a.m. near Saigon Court, just west of Kirkwood Avenue, police said. The eastbound lanes of Carling Avenue were closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene. Police said they would not release the age or sex of the victim to protect the youth’s identity.

Investigators are hoping to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have dashcam video of the scene and has not yet spoken to police.
