Police used cellphone tracking to track down a person lost with his two dogs in deep forest in the North Grenville area, about 50 kilometres south of Ottawa.
The caller reached out to the OPP at about 2:30 p.m. Friday saying he was lost.
The person noted that one of two dogs was older and unable to walk any further due to dehydration.
“The caller did not have any food or water with them either,” OPP said in a release.

“Fortunately, this caller stayed calm and listened to the request to stay where they were, so police could coordinate the cellphone signal,” OPP said.
Officers located the caller and two dogs, and provided water for them upon arrival.
“Everyone went home in good health.”
Police cautioned that people travelling in unfamiliar areas should let someone know your plans.
