The officers made a U-turn and turned on the cruiser’s flashing lights in an attempt to intercept the vehicle.
The suspect driver allegedly lost control of their vehicle, which then left the road.
A passenger in that vehicle allegedly was seriously injured and was taken to hospital, where his condition was considered stable on Saturday.
Six BEI investigators were tasked with investigating the incident.
In addition, given some unspecified “circumstances of the event,” support services of an independent police force were required.
A parallel criminal investigation has been assigned to the Montreal Police Service.
Anyone who may have witnessed this event was asked to contact the BEI via its website at www.bei.gouv.qc.ca/nous joindre
