The first crash occurred at about 3 a.m. when a 23-year-old man from Shawville, Que., allegedly lost control of his car on Highway 417 near Highway 7, according to the OPP.

The Mercedes crash was just before 8 p.m. on the Queensway near Bronson Avenue. That driver, also 23, was from Georgetown, a municipality in the Greater Toronto Area.

Both drivers were charged with impaired driving offences and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

“Thankfully, nobody was hurt” in either crash, police noted in a release on the social media platform X.

“Though mom was pretty upset that her son totalled her Mercedes!”
