Suspect sought for stealing cash drawer from Market-area business

Time was apparently of the essence for a suspect being sought for the theft of a whole cash drawer from a Market-area business earlier this week.

Police said in a news release Friday that a suspect entered an unnamed store in the 300 block of Dalhousie Street at 11:30 p.m. on Monday.

The man jumped the counter, grabbed the cash drawer and took off on foot.

The amount of cash is unknown, police said.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his 30s, about five feet seven inches tall with a medium build, dark brown hair and facial hair. He has distinct tattoos on his right hand.

Police said he was wearing a black sweatshirt with a white logo on the front, black Adidas sweatpants and black shoes with white soles.
