Firefighters saw smoke when they arrived. At 3:15 p.m, a working fire was declared and additional resources were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters initiated a fast attack, advanced a hose line into the building and began searching for occupants.

After two complete searches, no one was found inside. The fire was declared under control at 3:25 p.m.

An Ottawa Fire Services investigator has been dispatched to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
