A 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries Sunday after a side-by-side off-road vehicle crashed just west of Williamstown, which is near Cornwall.
Officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP detachment, the South Glengarry Fire Department and Cornwall paramedics responded after the incident on Heron Road at about 6:15 p.m.
One person had been thrown from the vehicle and became trapped beneath it after a rollover. An area resident used a tractor to lift the side-by-side, freeing the teen who was then airlifted by the Ornge ambulance service to an Ottawa hospital.
The boy’s injuries “are now described as non-life-threatening,” the OPP said in a news release Monday.
A 16-year-old girl was also taken to hospital with minor injuries, while a third occupant of the vehicle was not hurt in the crash.
An investigation continues, police said.
