According to a Sunday news release from the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the teen, who was a student at Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School, had since succumbed to his injuries.
“Out of respect for the privacy of the family, the name of the student is not being shared at this time,” the school board said. “We have reached out to the family to extend our deepest condolences. They have expressed appreciation for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the school community. At this time of loss, they have requested privacy.”
Police said they arrested one suspect on Thursday afternoon.

Police did not specify what charges the 18-year-old is facing, nor did they release his identity.
The school board said the accused was not a student at the school.
“We continue to cooperate with the police on their investigation and we encourage everyone to refrain from engaging in speculation and rumors regarding the incident,” the board said.
OCDSB’s Tragic Events Response Team was at the school Thursday and Friday, and will continue to be on site in the week ahead, the school board says.
