Provincial police have charged a 67-year-old The Nation Township man with impaired driving after a vehicle collided into a railway crossing arm Sunday.
Police say they were called at 6:50 p.m after receiving numerous reports that a vehicle had hit a Via Rail crossing arm on Limoges Road.
At the scene, the driver failed an alcohol screening test, and was arrested and taken to the OPP detachment for further testing.
The driver was charged with two alcohol-related charges.
He received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
The accused was also scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.
