Provincial police say three Toronto men have been arrested and almost 1,500 stolen gift cards were recovered in the Napanee area Monday.

In a release, the OPP says they were called to a business on Alkanbrack Street in Napanee Monday, for a report that three people had been spotted shoplifting and were leaving the scene in a vehicle.

“Officers responded and located a vehicle matching the description provided and conducted a traffic stop,” the release stated.

Police said the suspects were also linked to a previous report of shoplifting Monday at a business on Sherwood Avenue in Amherstview.

The stolen gift cards and an unspecified amount of cash were found in the suspects’ vehicle.

The three men, two in their late 40s and one in his 50s, face number of theft and fraud charges.

Police say the investigation continues.
