Two arrested, drugs and paraphernelia seized in Clarence Street raid

Two Ottawa residents face a number of drug-related charges following a month-long investigation.

In a release, Ottawa police said the street crime unit launched an investigation in April into suspected drug trafficking in the city.

On May 2 the unit, with support from the Vanier Neighbourhood Resource Team, executed a search warrant at a home on Clarence Street.

Police seized a prohibited ammunition magazine, a bulletproof vest, crack cocaine, cocaine, more than $3,500 in cash, cellphones, and drug packaging materials.

A 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both of Ottawa, were charged jointly with several counts under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of proceeds of crime and breach of probation.

They are both scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
