Two boats stolen from storage facility in West Quebec

Police from the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais says they’re investigating the thefts of two sport boats from a storage facility in the community of Saint-Pierre-de-Wakefield within a span of less than a week in late June.

A 2015 Glastron GT boat in navy blue and white colours, bearing the Transport Canada registration number QC 5349394 and located on a Rhino trailer, was stolen between noon on June 24 and 6 p.m. on June 26, police said in a news release on Tuesday.

Just days later, around noon on June 29, a 2019 MasterCraft boat in lime green and white colours with Transport Canada registration number QC 7279483 and located on a black Mastercraft trailer was taken, police added.

During the second theft, a black GMC SUV was captured by a surveillance camera pulling the boat.

The stolen boats were worth a total of more than $200,000, the police release said.

Saint-Pierre-de-Wakefield is in Val-des-Monts municipality and about 40 kilometres north of Ottawa.
