“Officers from the former Killaloe Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment, other detachments and the Renfrew County OPP Crime Unit have followed up on multiple tips and leads over the years, but none have resulted in finding the person responsible,” the release read.

It said the investigation was now being conducted by the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP detachment, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Investigators would like to talk to anyone with information about the hit-and-run who has not yet spoken with police. Those with information were asked to call 1-888-310-1122 and refer to case SP05017322. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Ottawa Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips can also be submitted online on the Renfrew County Crime Stoppers website.
