A man was shot and sustained non life-threatening injuries on Sunday night, and another man was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds Monday, officials said.
A spokesperson for the Ottawa paramedics said the call for the shooting in Vanier on St-Denis Street near St. Jacques Street came in at about 11 p.m. on Sunday night, and the victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Monday morning, a man was taken to hospital in critical condition after a stabbing in the village of Metcalfe.
Ottawa paramedics told the Citizen they responded to the call on Ira Morgan Way, some 30 km southeast of the city, at about 11 a.m.
The man was in critical condition but his injuries were considered non life-threatening.
“At this time the investigation is in the infancy stages an update will be provided once available,” a spokesperson for the Ottawa police said about the stabbing.
